Inkhosatana Gelane confirmed having fired Umgijimi of Lawuba and said there is nothing sinister with the exercise because it was done in the presence of the community as a retrospective justice.

Inkhosatana further said there are a lot of things that were getting out of hand with Kunene, but said she can only confirm the meeting to correct the challenges was held and tasks were given to people at community level.

She confirmed that the Umgijimi who has been relieved of his duties was not present and was replaced.

She said communities are responsible for correcting their people where they have made wrongs using their own platforms, which includes community meetings.

“It’s a platform to correct wrongs and responsible people accept when they are wrong and change their wrongs, especially when they are entrusted with community responsibility,” said the acting chief.

Inkhosatana said as a community, they would not want to hang their dirty linen in public but all their issues are customary solved as they are not trying to destroy people but make corrective measures in the community set-up.
