SPORT SundayObserver 39 January 6, 2019 'Koki's' Weslians booted out of Ingwenyama Cup BY SIBUSISO DLAMINI The match went to recess with the police side enjoying a slender lead.
After the break, Leopard still dominated and as Wanderers tried to throw numbers upfront, Lungelo Tsabedze finished the game off just before the hour mark with a fine finish after a million dollar pass from Ndzimandze. In search for the equaliser, coach Vilakati tried to bring in the likes of Mfanafuthi 'Taribo' Bhembe and Sifiso 'Tjovitjo' Maseko who tried to create chances, but they still failed to get an equaliser until the referee blew the whistle for full-time to send Royal Leopard to the last eight condemning the struggling hub giants to another loss. Royal Leopard.................(1)2 Manzini Wanderers......(0)0 S OCCER - Manzini Wanderers new mentor Thabo 'Koki' Vilakati lost his first match of the Ingwenyama Cup when his side Manzini Wanderers crashed out of the tournament with a 02 loss to Royal Leopard.
This was during their Ingwenyama Cup last 16 fixture played at the Mayaluka Stadium yesterday.
Vilakati who was leading the maroon and white outfit for the first time since being unveiled as coach of the hub giants suffered a huge loss before kickoff as the team's skipper Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya limped off the field after sustaining an injury during warm-up.
Royal Leopard controlled the match from the onset and kept winning the ball in midfield.
This resulted in them breaking the deadlock in the 27th minute with a stunning volley from about 20 yards- out from Bongane 'Ngci' Ndzimandze to put the police side on the front foot.
Wanderers tried to make something happen, when tricky winger Mike Dombo who was subpar by his standards was set free on the left-flank, firing the ball over the bar, and failing to trouble Phephisani Msibi, who was manning the Leopard poles.
