If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself"

Sunday Observer - - SCENE - Tell us about yourself When did your passion for music start? What inspired it? Role model in the music industry? Your views on the entertainment industry Eswatini Views on the house music scene Words of advice to promoters and DJs in

My real name is Mncedisi Zwane, stage name DJ Kini derived from Makinatsi. I'm a huge soccer and a die-hard Manchester United fan, so during my spare time or I am away from the decks, I play football. I have over the years adopted the nickname ‘Mr Party’ because fun lovers have this belief that when I am around in an event, it is bound to be interesting . I love deep house music but through bookings I play commercial house and gqom music

My passion for music started when I was in primary school working with SwaziBoy Entertainment in the events management department. I later joined Rhyno Music, which is a recording studio under DJ Mthiizo, where

I worked with Diba Diba, NR and Flameboy. In 2015, I started my own entertainment stable with my brother called Eswatini Entertainment, whichlater changed to SwaziRoots Entertainment.

I believe you have to be passionate and respect your craft and in return you reap the rewards. We are all after money and If you work hard you are able to make money.

It has to be the legendary DJ Crooks. He needs no introduction in the house music industry. I think a lot of DJs look up to him and I am no different

Today's entertainment industry of Eswatini is growing, we have good and talented music producers and talented vocalists. I think we need to try and get support from local companies for sponsorships. I believe that could change a lot.

Eswatini house music is gradually improving. Locally my favourite producers are Mthiizo (Rhyno Music), Charmiso ( SwaziRoots ) and Mshokobezi.

I think we need to get rid of the mindset that the industry in just a hobby. For most of us, it pays our bills, so in short it is our 8 to 5. We need to be representatives of the industry, and work as a unit.
