This was highlighted on Wednesday during the sitting of the House of Assembly.

Lobamba Lomdzala MP Marwick Khumalo raised the issue before Speaker Petros Mavimbela and highlighted that during the last sitting, they had stated that they would debate the issue of petitions sent to the various constituencies.

“What is expected to happen now because this is a matter that was supposed to be discussed when we had our last sitting,” said MP Khumalo.

About 23 MPs debated on the issue before Minister of Tinkhundla Administration and Development MP David Ngcamphalala moved that the debate be abandoned because all the submissions being made were similar.

MP Khumalo said the issue of petitions was not one that could just be ignored as it was a national issue. He said not all tinkhundla centres had been visited.

He said they were still being asked about the petitions at their constituencies.

Khumalo was supported by Matsanjeni South MP Bomber Mamba, who highlighted that the process had not been completed as it was stopped abruptly.

“What happens now to the constituencies where the petitions were not delivered? Do we allow them to continue or everything has just ended?” asked MP Mamba.

He was followed by Hosea MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza, who highlighted that the issue needed to be raised.

MP Mabuza alleged that he had actually been called by some representatives of the Regional Administrators ( RA) Office who asked him to bring the petitions to
