Dialogue without boss
MANZINI – “EmaSwati need dialogue where there is no boss.”
This was Siphofaneni Constituency Member of Parliament ( MP), Mduduzi Simelane’s submission to the Southern African Development Community ( SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security – Troika.
He said it was a pity that the kingdom had in previous years facilitated the Smart Partnership Dialogue which supposedly made people believe that communication was easy within the kingdom. The legislator said this was far from the truth as the dialogue that was sought by many was not pursued.
He said they believed in peace and it was for that reason they saw dialogue as a way forward.
Understanding
“Our understanding is that government is not sensitive to the people’s call and the violence was because the administration is failing to give people their constitutional rights as they were denied to deliver petitions at official places where politics are discussed ( constituency centres) ( sic).”
This was also affirmed by Hosea Constituency MP Mduduzi Mabuza. He said they presented before the factfinding mission; however, it was not Troika that would bring change to the kingdom; but it was the people of the country.
Mabuza implored the citizenry not to stop making the calls for political change as this was permitted by the Constitution.
“I’m not afraid to be arrested for the truth,” Mabuza said.
Even if he was arrested, Mabuza said, subsequent to his release from incarceration, the first call he would make was for the liberty to elect a prime minister ( PM).
