‘ PM should substantiate mercenaries allegations’

-

MANZINI – The Members of Parliament ( MPs) calling for change want the Prime Minister, Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, to substantiate the allegations of mercenaries in the kingdom.

Hosea Constituency MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza said the PM had an assignment of identifying the supposed mercenaries that killed people in the kingdom during the political unrest.

“The PM has to show us the mercenaries and where they are kept after being arrested or tell us why they are not detained,” Mabuza said. He further took a swipe at the National Commissioner of Police, William Dlamini, whom he accused of saying that the recent murder of civilians allegedly by a police officer at Lomahasha was a first of its kind. This, Mabuza disputed and said it was something that had happened in the past. The difference now was that it was easier to publicise it.

On the other hand, Siphofaneni Constituency MP Mduduzi Simelane said the PM had an opportunity to facilitate the change that was desired by the masses.

He said they harboured nothing against the premier as he was appointed; despite that, Simelane said they were bound to question the legality of his appointment and seek to establish if the law was followed when same was executed. He said the appointment of the premier set him to be remembered in history for either supporting the political reforms that were sought by some members of the public or whether he ignores the calls for same. Simelane made an example of the last South African President under apartheid, FW De Klerk whom, he said, fostered the will of the people and facilitated the negotiations towards a transformation.

He appealed to the incumbent premier to be a man of truth as Simelane said the country was at a critical time wherein a person was either on the good or bad side.

“I advise you to be on the good side and believe you can stand for the truth wherein you advise the authorities on fostering change,” Simelane said.
