‘ Need for prayerful men’

-

LOBAMBA- Reverend Victor Dlamini says the country needs certain men to help out in the prevailing situation.

By certain men, Dlamini meant people who were filled with the Holy Spirit so that they could pray for the end of the political instability among other challenges faced by the country.

He was unpacking Genesis 41: 38 at the Somhlolo National Festival of Praise yesterday. The scripture reads; “So Pharaoh said to his servants, can we find a man like this, a man equal to Joseph, in who is the divine spirit of God’.”

The man of God said the country needed people like Joseph who interpreted Pharaoh’s dream after all prophets had failed. He stated that Joseph managed to interprete the King’s dream because he was filled with the Holy Spirit. “It may look like the sea will swallow Eswatini but we are here to make an assurance that it can be controlled,” Dlamini said. He went on to remind men of God that King Sobhuza once called church leaders and assigned them to seek Jesus’s foot.

“King Sobhuza II once called church leaders to a meeting. He then assigned them to seek Jesus’s foot. One would ask why the King gave the church such an assignment. It might happen that the King was determined that some church leaders did not understand what they were called do to. It might happen that some of the church leaders did not understand what the King meant to them, ( sic)” he said.

Answer

Dlamini said it was high time that His Majesty called church leaders to provide the answer.

Dlamini’s message changed the atmosphere in the church. Some attendees stoop up on their feet as he delivered the message. A certain woman prayed loudly, resulting in the programme director giving her the microphone while others whistled. This year’s theme was ‘ Such as this’ and was taken from the book of Ester 4: 14 where it reads; “For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish, since you did not help when you had a chance. And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this and for this very purpose.” The theme was also derived from the book of Genesis 41: 38 where it reads: “So Pharaoh said to his servants, ‘ can we find a man like this, a man equal to Joseph, in who is the divine spirit of God.” The book of Hebrews 2: 3 where it reads “How will we escape the penalty if we ignore such a great salvation; the gospel, the new covenant. For it was spoken at first by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us and proved authentic by those who personally heard him speak” also formed part of the theme.
