Commissioner unveils 2021 virtual tax season
MBABANE – Eswatini Revenue Authority ( SRA) Commissioner General Dumisani Masilela has notified taxpayers to submit selfassessed income tax returns for the year ended June 30, 2021.
Like in the past year, the tax returns must be s ubmitted t o t he SRA us - ing e- tax only. Submission through any other channel will be deemed as non- submission and will, therefore, incur penalties in terms of the order.
Resident
Persons liable to submit income tax returns include every person ( other t h a n a c o mpany o r t r u s t ) who r e - ceived any gross income sourced in

The s e l f - a s s e s s e d r e t ur n a nd t he tax payable have the same deadline
for submission. Non- Value Added Tax ( VAT) registered entities have an October 31 deadline.
Income
Individuals with employment income above E2 million have a November 30, 2021, deadline.
Large companies ( managed under the large taxpayer unit) have up until the last day of this year to file their income tax returns.
“All e mployers, i ncl udi ng t hose who do not have employees who fall within the pay- as- you- earn ( PAYE) t ax bracket must submit an annual PAYE Reconciliation on or before
September 30, 2021.
“Taxpayers should make sure that their PAYE Reconciliations are in order and balanced before submitting,” said the commissioner.
