EEC’s bid to resolve outages
MBABANE - Eswatini Electricity Company ( EEC) intends to design, supply, install, test and commission remotely controlled autoreclosers at various points within the 11kV distribution network.
The objective of this tender is to procure a contractor to design, procure and install the autorecloser systems in the areas to be identified and visited during the briefing meeting. The scope covers the design, supply, equipment installation and commissioning of the auto- reclosers. The tenderer shall furnish as part of its tender, a security in the amount of E100 000 in the tender currency.
The tender security shall, at the tenderers’ option, be in the form of a certified cheque, insurance or bank guarantee from an internationally reputable bank selected by the tenderer. The format of the bank guarantee shall be in accordance with the tender security form included in the tender documents.
Period
“The tender security shall remain valid for a period of 28 days beyond the original tender validity period, and beyond any extension subsequently requested. Any tender not accompanied by an acceptable tender security shall be rejected by the employer as being non- responsive,” reads the invitation. The tender security of a joint venture must be in the name of all the partners in the joint venture submitting the tender.
The tender security of unsuccessful tenderers will be returned as promptly as possible, but not later than 28 days after the expiry of the tender validity period. All bids must be submitted by noon on August 23 this year. Meanwhile, according to online sources, automatic circuit reclosers ( ACRs) are a class of switchgear which is designed for use on over chead electricity distribution networks to detect and interrupt momentary faults. Also known as reclosers or autoreclosers, ACRs are essentially high voltage rated circuit breakers with integrated current and voltage sensors and a protection relay, optimised for use as an overhead network distribution protection asset.
