More donations for Illa Penboy Foundation

MBABANE – His philanthro­pic work has been positively boosted as more donations have poured in from various stakeholde­rs countrywid­e.

Thi s i s n o n e o t h e r t h a n h i p hop artist turned philanthro­pist, Illa Penboy, whose real name is Sifiso Ndlangaman­dla. The rapper formed a foundation which solely exists to assist vulnerable citizens of the country. So far, h e h a s a s s i s t e d s o me e l d e r l y people by building t hem oneroom houses through donations he r eceived f r om members of the public.

Donations

More recently, donations from various organisati­ons have poured in to assist in his foundation’s endeavor in helping with the ‘ Feed The Kids’ initiative, a campaign which was initiated by the recent protests which left thousands of emaSwati jobless and unable to provide for their families.

This includes Pick n Pay Eswatini who have now partnered with Illa Penboy to feed kids of Eswatini. In a recent post shared by the giant retailer on Facebook, members of the public are urged t o a l s o hel p i n donating f ood items in boxes located at all Pick n Pay stores.

“Eswatini is stronger when we stand together, as one people and one nation. We have partnered with Illa Penboy Daily to help feed the kids of Eswatini. Join us by donating essential food items in the donation boxes located at our Pick n Pay Eswatini stores,” read the post.

Contribute

The store’s management further added by saying the various s t or e s would e a c h c ont r i but e maize meal, rice, sugar and pasta in order to support the children at various soup kitchens the Illa Penboy Foundation is currently assisting.

It is also worth noting that the food which was donated already a s s i s t e d over 120 c hi l dr e n i n Lonhluphek­o at Mahenjane Care Point in Siteki.

Among other donors is Eagles Nest who have also partnered with the foundation. According t o Ndl a n g a mandla , o v e r 5 0 0 children stand t o benefit from the donations. Viva Beverages donated t he soft drinks which were then evenly distribute­d to the children.

As this was not enough, clothing retailer Mr Price also donated clothes to the foundation. The exact amount of the clothes could not be ascertaine­d by the time of going to print as Ndlangaman­dla mentioned that the clothes did not come with price tags.

Other donors included members of the public that donated either with food items, money or building material.

Ndlangaman­dla further said he thanked the support he had seen with his foundation.

Mandate

“I would like to thank emaSwati for donating and helping the foundation achieve its mandate which i s t o a s s i s t v u l n e r a b l e emaSwati. More recently, Peak Ti mbers c ommitted t o bui l ding the first soup kitchen which would be under the Illa Penboy Foundation and this appeases my heart to know that more children stand to benefit in the longrun” he said.

The r a p p e r h a s managed t o brand and rebrand himself over the years and is now a philanthro­pist, entreprene­ur and social media marketer t o name but a few of his works.

His work has been admired by f el l ow countrymen who have praised him for his unrelentin­g charity work over the past year. Most recently, the rapper partnered with internatio­nal alcoholic brand, Mpesu Gin.
