Urus still best- selling Lamborghin­i

LAMBORGHIN­I enjoyed record sales in the irst half of 2021, mostly thanks to particular­ly strong demand for its Urus SUV.

The Italian supercar specialist managed to sell 4 852 vehicles i n t h e f i r s t s i x months o f t h e y e a r, r e p r e s e n t i n g a 3 7 p e r c e n t i n c r e a s e o ve r t h e s a me p e r i o d i n 2 0 2 0 a n d a 6 . 6 p e r cent i mprovement over 2019, which i s probably a more fa i r comparison.

The Urus SUV accounted f or 2 796 units, or 57.6 per cent of Lamborghin­i’s total, with sales having increased by 35 per cent year- on- year.

It has essentiall­y become the marque’s cash cow, much l i ke t h e C a ye n n e h a s b e c o me f o r Porsche.

The second most popular Lamborghin­i in H1 was the Huracan, with 1 532 sales, an increase of 46 per cent year‐ on‐ year. Finally, the Aventador managed just 252 sales, up 21 per cent, although i t’s worth noting that the l agship supercar is at the end of its life cycle.

Lamborghin­i recently revealed the LP 780‐ 4 Ultimae as the inal Aventador model, and ittingly i t’ s also the fastest , with Lamborghin­i claiming a 2.8‐ second 0‐ 100km/ h sprint time.

The Aventador is set to make way for a hybrid model t hat’s due in 2023.

Lamborghin­i’s biggest market in the irst six months of 2021 was t he Uni t e d S t a t e s , which accounted for 1 502 sales.

This was f ol l owed by China, Hong Kong and Macau, with 602 collective sales, and Germany, which recorded 391.

These were followed by the UK ( 318), Japan ( 258), the Middle East ( 226) and Italy ( 197).
