B. Swallows must ‘ Basop’ Sundowns

Denver Sundowns vs

Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows Venue: Mavuso Sports Centre, Manzini

Kickoff: 2: 30pm

MBABANE – Buoyed by their previous 3-1 win against Malanti Chiefs in a midweek clash at KaLanga and the presence of their newest technical bench addition, former Mbabane Swallows and Mbabane Highlanders’ assistant coach and physical trainer Siyabonga Bhembe, Denver Sundowns are in good spirits.

They have new rivals this afternoon and its Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows, fellow relegation fighting opponents as both sides make the bottom four of the table.

They are tied on 21 points with Sundowns having played a game more than Black Swallows, who also have 21 points and just under them on 14th.

A win for Sundowns prevents them from going under their rivals and closer to the drop zone as the last two teams on the standings will go down when the league curtain falls in the next two weeks or so.

SAFETY

The bottom two teams, Mhlume Peacemakers ( 15th) and Malanti Chiefs on 16th, have 19 and 18 points respectively, just an average three separating them from safety with some games to spare.

It is another relegation battle here and only a win works better when in these positions and the number of games quickly decreasing.

Sundowns are obviously motivated by the 3- 0 success over basement side Malanti Chiefs and feel that was just the start of good things for them.

They have the experience in

the squad with Darren ‘ Dazza’ Christie leading the fray – he was among the scorers in previous matches.

DRAW

The two sides played to a 2- all draw back in April in the first round last season when Sundowns lost 1- 0 before winning with the same margin in the second round – equal strength it seems.

Black Swallows last played to a 1- 1 draw with Moneni Pirates early this month and that could work against them here but they have big names like for mer Mbabane Highlanders stars Mfanufikile ‘ Fash’ Ndzimandze and Sibusiso Mkhonta to steer them into clear waters.
