Pool stars for Mvembili tournament
MBABANE – The t hird edition of the tournament i s b a c k wi t h a bang.
According to Charles Dlamini, who spoke on behalf of the sponsor, Bandile Dlamini, this edition would feature not only the local community players. The community hosts an Eight- Ball Pool Singles Tournament.
“As I mentioned last time that the next tournament will be bigger and better than the previous one, we are expecting players from as far as Matsapha and Pigg’s Peak. We invited them and they assured us of their participation. Those who will be using Mobile Money to pay their registration, the fee is E20 per player,” Charles said.
The registration fee excludes the table charges. According to the organiser, the local players had already paid the registration fee.

“The local players have shown a huge interest in participating in this tournament and they promised that the trophy will remain in their community. They vowed to outclass the visiting players from Matsapha and Pigg’s Peak. This is going to be an interesting tournament indeed,’’ he said.
The defending champion, Delani Dlamini promised that he would defend his crown with everything he has.
“I will definitely win this tournament, I do not fear anyone, especially the local players, and my main worry is the guest players who I will be meeting for the first time here, but I promise that I will be crowned the champion for the second time in the history of the tournament,’’ he declared.
The champion of this edition will take home a sum of E650, a trophy and a gold medal. The runner- up will pocket E200 plus a silver medal, while the third- placed pool player will take home E100 plus a bronze medal. The grand prize money had been increased by E150 as the previous winner took home E500.
The tournament will be staged at Emvembili, kaMhambi today. The tournament was postponed from last weekend due to bereavement of a community member. The games will start at 9am to allow the players to arrive home early.
