MP Mthandeni hints forming political party

MBABANE – Ngwempisi Member of Parliament ( MP) Mthandeni Dube has started throwing hints on the possibilit­y of forming a political party.

Dube is among the three MPs who pioneered the move for change in Parliament and called for an elected prime minister ( PM).

Dube said the feeling and the thought of starting a political party has been conceived already and he has even spoken about it informally to other MPs. He said though he could not speak on behalf of the other two MPs, Mduduzi Si melane and B ace de Mabuza but he knew that they were all committed to the task at hand which is to fight for a government elected by the people.

“Even though I might have spoken about it with the other MPs but this is my personal feeling and please put it in mind that I also know how they feel. I foresee a time where I might decide on forming a political party if possible together with the other MPs,” he said.

However, Dube said t he immediate goal for now was to call for an elected PM.

He said he speaks to political parties on daily bases and has engaged on the possibilit­ies and the future with them.

He alluded to the fact that he is not yet a member of any political party as yet but the intention has been clear that if time and chance avail she would consider starting his own party.

“The possibilit­ies are endless but right now I am committed to the struggle and I will ensure that by the time my term ends I will have finished my goal,” he said.

People’ s United Democratic Movement Secretary General Wandil eD lud lu said t he Members of Parliament had played a major role in the shaping of the struggle and they would support the MPs.

“It’s been our trite principle in our founding mission to say the liberation of a Swat is hall be the act of the people themselves. This means no one must expect others to fight for him or her but we must all come together in the fight for freedom,” he said.

Dludlu welcomed emaSwati to join the organisati­on or find themselves political identities in the future government.

He applauded the MPs for the role they played and said it was time that the struggle is taken a notch further.

“We have encouraged all MPs to take their rightful stand in society. They don’t have to be members of PU DEMO to be apart of the struggle and what we will support is their resolve against corruption and downgradin­g of our beautiful country,” he added.
