Sheltered by Almighty God

-

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty - ( Psalm 91: 1)

Couple of summers ago on a Friday afternoon, we had just picked up our son from school when it started raining heavily. In addition, over the next five to 15 minutes hailstone started pounding on our vehicle with the possibility of smashing the windshield.

In a desperate attempt to save the car f r om damage and possibly our l i ves, we drove t o t he nearby f uel station along t he high way. With a s i gh of r el i ef , we were s af e under the gas station shelter. In life, there will always be diverse storms such as financial difficulties, marital conflicts, psychological trauma and health predicaments. Situations that will change the rest of your life. Moreover, these storms of life will come unexpectedly and with great potential to affect our lives severely and negatively.

Nevertheless, when we encounter troubles and all manner of trials in life. There is a spiritual secret place of safety where we can find rest for our distressed hearts and minds. To be at rest spiritually in the presence of God means a child of God is settled, secured and is at peace.

TRANQUILIT Y

In actual fact, biblical rest is synonymous to peace. The Hebrew word is nuach simply to be quite. There is serenity, a calmness, profound tranquility in the presence of God. There is an inner spiritual satisfaction connected to divine rest in the presence of God. He has promised to take care of His people as they reverence Him in Holy fear

The secret spiritual place is where we a s c e r t a i n c omplete di vi ne r e s t in the shadow of the Almighty. This

particular spiritual place brings unmat c h e d i n n e r p e a c e . I t p r o v i d e s security that no intelligence and security agencies can provide. Remember weapons are formed every day and more specifically against t he child of God. However, always take heart His Word declares t hat t hose same weapons will not prosper. Spiritual weapons will be and ar e designed under the earth and in secret places but the security; detail of God has that covered too.

Are you worried about what tomorrow holds? Have you lost something so meaningful in your life? Is any part of your family life falling apart? Have you lost hope for living? God has a place for you to find rest, restoration hope and healing. God’s presence is a safe place to access inner security and divine protection in a world of uncertainties. One of the spiritual benefits of being a child of God is the divine access to the gift of the presence of God. No person can receive anything unless God gives it. Every gift that comes from God comes through the channel of grace. Jesus Christ is the s p i r i t u a l e mbodiment o f t h e v e r y

life of God and presence among His people.

Where two or three are gathered, the epitome of Christ is present through t he manifestation of His presence. What the prophet Moses in Exodus 33 prayed for outwardly under the old covenant we possess inwardly under a new covenant. Jesus the Christ is the manifestation of God’s presence in the life of a New Testament believer.

ENABLEMENT

The abiding presence of Jesus within our hearts and lives is a gift from God. This divine enablement is made possible through the ministry of Holy Spirit. The Spirit of Christ dwells in us in power and revelational knowledge to our spiritual advantages.

Our divine assurance is birthed in conviction and r evelation t hrough God’s unlimited love. This unconditional divine love builds confidence in the life of a child of God . The blessed assurance from God’s presence releases a unique courage to move on in life despite the circumstances knowing we are not alone in this journey of life.

When a father or mother is with a child in a busy place where danger and

the unthinkable can happen. It his or her responsibility to ensure the safety of the child. On the other hand, the child is stress free knowing someone who loves them is in their presence. God is holding our hands and navigating through life with the best of interest of at heart for our destiny.

The words of assurance spoke to Jacob are our words too today, Genesis 28: 15 “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Jesus Christ is our blessed assurance and in “… whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.” Eph 3: 12

It is our spiritual obligation to “… draw near with a t r ue heart i n f ull assurance of f aith, with our hearts s pr i nkl e d c l e a n f r om a n e vi l c onscience and our bodies washed with pure water”. Heb 10: 22

Make an intentional decision today to rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
