SITEKI – An own goal by Tinyosi’s Mangaliso Nkambule with four minutes remaining salvaged a point for Manzini Sea Birds.

Tinyosi were close to pocketing the maximum points that were to take them to safety but lapse of concentration towards the end of the denied them that.

They are still not safe from the axe as they had 25 points while the safety mark is 30 points and there are four games remaining.

Manzi ni Sea Birds, who started the season like a house on fire sealed their safety as they stand at 32 points and mid table after the draw yesterday.

The game started with both teams failing to convert the chances they created. Tinyosi was two times saved by the goal posts with their goalkeeper Sisekelo Maseko forced Muzi

Tsabedze shot to the goal post and the rebound also hit the goal upright and that chance was gone.

Tinyosi’s clear chance came in with five minutes from the break when Mthobisi Khumalo’s shot was saved by Sea Birds goal keeper Bafana Ngwenya.

The game went for a breather with both sides goalless.

Jibe

It was Tinyosi who took the first jibe in the second half when two minutes before the hour mark, substitute Lwazi ‘ Shumi’ Mamba well taken shot missed a target by inches. Both teams continued to put pressure on each other.

With 15 minutes remaining. Tinyosi scored through Muhle Dlamini who converted a cross from Mphucuko Dlamini as Sea Birds goalkeeper Bafana Ngwenya was found wanting.

Sea Birds, who seemed to have given up the game, then celebrated the own goal with four minutes remaining. The ball deflected on Mangaliso Nkambule and went for the net with the goalkeeper left with no chance to make a save.
