Dear anonymous, it seems like you also don’t buy his excuses for not attending counselling. It seems to me that he made that up for you to stay when he had no intention of seeing it through. It’s a pity that he doesn’t realise that he has hurt and betrayed you that you actually considered to end things. You need to remind him that he’s the one who suggested it in the first place as you were already on your way out. If he can’t commit to it then he must let you know. But if he’s not taking it seriously then he’s telling you something else. Also tell his family that he’s not sticking to the promises he made to rescue his marriage. Remind him that it was his actions that led you to consider leaving but if he’s not even sticking to his promise then you might rethink your decision of staying.
