NGCAMINI – Sibonelo Savings and Credit Cooperative Board members on Thursday brought hope and smiles to two orphaned children when they handed over a two- roomed house worth E74 000.

The children, Nosipho Tsabedze ( 18) and her brother, Ayanda ( 12), were sleeping in a stick and mud hut after both their parents passed away in 2010 and 2017, respectively.

The cooperative’s Board Chairman, Sifiso Mhlongo, said they were deeply touched by the plight of the children when they received a request from the Kalanga Umphakatsi Bucopho Elias Maziya.

The society further donated a 2 500 litres water tank and a toilet.

‘ ADOPTED’

Nkosingiphile Hlophe, who ‘ adopted’ the children, said it was her passion to assist needy children.

Hlophe, who runs a business, styled Superworld Clearing Agency, said he was touched by the children’s plight in 2019 during their visit to the Lubombo Region to deliver food parcels to needy homes.

“I am also taking care of other children. I put Nosipho and Ayanda in hostels at their respective schools to ensure that they have more time for books. They are my children and they visit me when schools are in recess. I will make sure that they reach tertiary and go back to rebuild their home. We are so grateful for what Sibonelo has done as the children love their parental home,” she said.
