I will retire before 2030 - ‘ Mzoro’
MBABANE – This week we had a chat with Royal Leopard star and Captain Muzi ‘ Mzoro’ Dlamini.

Times: Who is Muzi Dlamini? Muzi: I am a humble person from Malindza at Esiweni. I did my primary education at Edulini Primary i n Shiselweni, t hat i s Grade One a n d Two, t h e n went t o Es i weni Primary until Grade Seven. I did my secondary at Malindza High School and then moved on to do my high school education at Lusoti and Lobamba National High schools.
Ti mes: Take us b a c k t o when you started playing football before playing elite football..
Muzi: I have played for Siweni United Dark City, Promising Stars, Izigi FC. From Izigi I joined Mbabane Highlanders and f i nall y i n 2013 I joined Royal Leopard.
Times: How did you get the nickname ‘ Mzoro’?
Muzi: In my home area they used to call me Mzo then one Ntuthuko Dlamini, former reporter of Times of Eswatini, wrote Mzoro instead of Mzo in his story then that was how I got the nickname.
Times: Who is your role model? Muzi: I think it has to be my father because I grew up without my mother but he took care of me and h e t a u g h t me many l i f e l e s s o n s which I live by every day.
Ti mes: Thi s s e a s o n y o u hav e been on form. Do you see yourself becoming the top goalscorer?
Muzi: I am not even dreaming of i t . I j ust want t o see my t eam winning many games and possibly lifting the league title.
Times: Many have said you deserve to be in the national team, Sihlangu Seminkati, what is your take?
Muzi: It is nice to represent your country but let us support those who are selected. My chance will come again. When it finally comes, I will grab it with both hands and reward the national team selectors.
Times: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Muzi: I really don’t know whether after f ootball I will do coaching courses or I will just focus on my job, I am not yet decide.
Ti mes: Tel l us y our f avouri t e teams in the world?
Muzi: Kaizer Chiefs, Manchester United and FC Barcelona are teams that I am a big fan of.
Times: Tell us your favourite holiday destination and your dream car?
Muzi: I wish to take a vacation in Dubai. I have heard a lot about that place and I just want to get a feel of it. My dream car is a BMW X6.
Times: Give advice to a young player; let’s say he gets an offer to play for one of the big three or the three security forces teams… which t eam would you recommend him to join?
Muzi: They must join a team of their choice...
Times: Tell us about your sense of humour… would you like to see yourself becoming the next Trevor Noah or you just do it for fun?
Muzi: Never... I like joking that is why I do those jokes on Tik Tok otherwise I don’t think I can be a comedian.
Times: And who is your favourite soccer play in the world?
Muzi: Give me Messi anytime, t hat pl a yer i s t a l e nt e d a nd c a n single- handedly decide a result of a game.
