‘‘ The real struggle has just begun. Where I am right now, I want to assure you that the government shall be handed over to the people very soon.”

MBABANE – Though currently a wanted person, Siphofaneni Member of Parliament Mduduzi ‘ Gawuzela’ Simelane has declared that he is continuously praying on a secret mountain.

In an elaborate interview with the Times SUNDAY regarding his whereabouts, Simelane said he already knew what God wanted him to do for the Kingdom of Eswatini.

He said he would reveal all his plans to the people when he returned from the prayer mountain.

Asked specifically which mountain he was praying on, Simelane refused to reveal details.

Simelane revealed that even though he was well aware of God’s mandate for him, he believed that he still needed to seek for the exact direction from God in prayer on the process of executing what he needed to do.

He elaborated that the three days of prayer and fasting he was on intended to solidify what he had been directed by God to do.

PLANS

When asked on the contents of what he has been assigned to do, Simelane said he would only be able to reveal it after Sunday evening ( today) as he would be descending the prayer mountain.

Simelane said only after the prayers would he be able to address all the issues around his whereabouts and the allegations levelled against him by the State.

Simelane told his followers that the call for social justice and political change in the country was still his priority.

He revealed to this newspaper that the direction he had been given by God was a very stern one towards the current government and the people should be ready to take the fight for democracy to the next level.

Simelane said the nation should not despair but must continue to fight even harder because the call for democracy was about to get even louder in the international community.

JUSTICE

Simelane said the local justice system had been found wanting in the past, where presiding officers issued sentences only for the ruling to be revoked through political influence.

“The real struggle has just begun. Where I am right now, I want to assure you that the government shall be handed over to the people very soon.

“I am currently in consultation with God and I will announce the latest updates after I have made further spiritual consultation.

“I have been too diplomatic and the course has become clearer now and I can feel that the democracy we are calling for is at hand,” said Simelane.

He further revealed that God had showed him a new Eswatini that is going to be considerate of the people’s needs and that would ensure social justice and equality. He indicated that the calls for democracy could no longer be overlooked because God had approved them.

STRUGGLE

“Angeke kuliwe ( there won’t be any fighting) because my beliefs are solid and I have made them known to the people. It is time that people align themselves with the struggle because what I will share shall give direction towards the future of the people of Eswatini,” he said.

Simelane further requested pastors in the country to pray even harder because God was about to hand over the country to the people.

He said the grace that was upon him was the evidence of prayers being made by different people in different areas.

“The grace that is upon me is not because I pray harder than anyone but because I am being prayed for by the people of Eswatini. I therefore want to encourage all the pastors in the country to pray without ceasing because now is the time for people to take over,” he added.

Simelane said by the time he came back from the mountain things would change.

ADDRESS

He said he would address the people at 7pm tonight and would open calls for the nation to talk to him directly.

He further stated that he was aware that an attempt would be made to cut off the internet so that he could not talk to the nation.

“I want you to make it clear that I

am aware that today they might cut off the internet so that I cannot communicate with the people but I want to assure the government that whatever plan that they hatch God reveals it to me in prayer so I will go ahead and make the recording because the people will still find it,” he said.

ALLEGATIONS

He said his allegations were based on past experience on how the local government worked.

One of the country’s most revered pastors Apostle Justice Dlamini is also on record calling for the nation to pray with Simelane because God had appointed him for such a time.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the apprehension of Simelane who is wanted for charges under the Suppression of Terrorism Act in relation to allegedly inciting the public to revolt, loot, and destroy people’s property as they call for an elected prime minister ( PM).

Simelane and his two colleagues; MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube, started the move in Parliament calling for the amendment of the country’s Constitution to allow the election of the PM as opposed to the current status, where he is appointed by His Majesty King Mswati III.

The calls for an elected PM resulted in members of the public delivering petitions to their respective MPs in their constituencies.

STOPPED PETITIONS

The government stopped the delivery of the petitions citing the COVID19 regulations, a move which was not well received by the public who then resorted to protest marches across the country which turned violent.

Part of the protesters resorted to looting and burning of businesses including vehicles ferrying commodities across the country. The government projected the overall loss to be approximately E3 billion.
