Police must wait - ‘ Gawuzela’

-

MBABANE – Siphof a n e n i M e m b e r o f P a r l i a m e n t ( M P ) M d u d u z i ‘ Gawuzela’ Si melane says he will avail himself t o t he pol i c e when t he t i me i s right.

Simelane stated in no uncertain terms that the police were not his priority at the moment because he had a lot of things to do in preparation for the next stage of the struggle.

He said the police had a chance to arrest him but elected not to do so and now he was busy with other things.

“There are a lot of things that need to be attended to so that we can deliver the government to the hands of the people and right now any meeting with the police is not a priority.

“I am not saying

I won’t meet with them though but they will have to wait for the right time,” he added.

Simelane said he was not a fugitive and was not running away from the police but busy with issues of liberation at the moment.

He said anything that did not address the struggle of the people was not his priority at the moment.

UNIMPORTANT THINGS

“I am busy at the moment and I cannot waste my time on unimportant things that do not address the issues affecting the people,” he added.

Asked specifically on what other things were more important than meeting with the police and addressing the issue of his warrant of arrest, he said such things included helping the people that were injured and planning the way forward.

“People were injured purpotedly by the police and others died and their families are grieving.

“We have over 500 people arrested for protesting and my two fellow MPs and brothers in the struggle have still not been granted bail yet it’s their constitutional right.

“There is a lot that I need to do while I am still outside before I can think of arranging a meeting with the police” he said.

Simelane has been highlighted in a charge sheet that was presented in court as a fugitive from justice, a term that was disputed by Advocate Mduduzi Mabila on Thursday and corrected by Judge Mumcy Dlamini as ‘ wanted’. Mabila was appearing for the two MPs as instructed by Lawyer Sifiso Jele.
