We have not found our child - Buhleni parents
MBABANE – The parents of a baby who was allegedly kidnapped at the Buhleni Bus Rank are still pleading with the nation to help find their child.
In an article published on September 2, 2021, by this publication a picture of the baby was used under an article that was reporting another baby who had gone missing.
The parents have since raised an alarm that their child has not been found.
They also continued to plead for assistance in finding their child.
“We want to state that our child is still missing and has not been found. When we saw the article we were a bit worried that the process of finding our child would unfortunately be halted,’’ said the father.
Wrong
In addition, the father said the people who stole his three-week-old baby might be the ones who were feeding the media with the wrong information.
“Please help us by clarifying every information you get from people especially if it concerns missing children.
“We are still hurting as a family and we do not know where to turn if such reports come out,’’ said the father.
The baby was allegedly kidnapped at a salon around Buhleni, where the mother had left her.
It is alleged the mother had gone to the salon to ask if she could leave the child as she had some errands to do.
The mother is said to have complained of pain, and not being able to carry the child for a longer period.
However, when she left the child, another woman is alleged to have gone to the salon asking for the child, pretending that the mother had sent her.
When the mother of the baby returned, she was shocked to learn that the baby had been given to someone else.
Kidnapped
It was alleged that the woman who was said to have kidnapped the child hired a vehicle around Buhleni to take her to a place known as Mangweni/Gasa, near an informal crossing.
This is the crossing people mainly going to places such as Magudu in South Africa use.
There had been a report that the child had been found around Magudu but this was disputed by the police.
Deputy Police Chief Information and Communication Officer Inspector Nosipho Mnguni at the time said the search was still ongoing. She said the baby had not been found yet.
