Mangololo Eswatini to petition diplomatic institutions
MBABANE – Mangololo Eswatini will be submitting petitions to diplomatic institutions in a few weeks’ time.
Following the delivery of a petition to the United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator, Nathalie Ndongo-Seh, Mangololo Eswatini will be submitting more petitions to South Africa and the United States of America diplomatic institutions, among others. In the petition delivered to the UN recently, Mangololo Eswatini highlighted that it had come to their attention that there was a group of people who claimed to be representing emaSwati requesting the United Nations (UN) to intervene in the affairs of Eswatini.
Democratic
They further highlighted that they wanted to draw attention to the democratic vote in Parliament, which had led to the banning of political parties in Eswatini during King Sobhuza II’s reign.
Mangololo Eswatini Spokesperson Gcina Dlamini, confirmed the planned petition delivery. He said the petitions were meant to share their side of the story and give clarity on the Tinkhundla System of Government.
On another note, Dlamini said since the inception of the movement, they had been able to register over 5 000 members. However, they deliberately preferred not to reveal their names until a certain strategic time. “It is amazing how some people expect us to prove our numbers yet they do not prove how many members they have in their organisations as well,” said Dlamini.
Confirmed
In previous reports, the Chairman of the Witchdoctors Association Makhanya Makhanya confirmed that he was officially a member of Mangololo Eswatini. Although the former Swaziland Federation of Trade Unions (SFTU) executive member Jabulani Nxumalo did not officially confirm being a member of the movement, he did, however, mention that he agreed with their views and they needed to be given a chance to express themselves. Nxumalo was also among the group that delivered the petition to the United Nations resident coordinator. He was clad in the movement’s T-shirt together with other supposed members. “It is worth mentioning that most of the political parties are pushing agendas of their sponsors and not the interests of the livelihoods of emaSwati, which is a very painful reality,” said Dlamini.
