Man who lost sight pleads for public assistance

MBABANE – Nhlanhla Dlamini (42) of Mankayane is pleading with the public to help him with funds or building material to build a home for himself and his three children.

He said his struggles began when he lost his sight in 2011, after he started experienci­ng severe headaches. Doctors tried to cure the severe headaches but after 14 days of medication, the doctor told him that the medication did not respond. MBABANE - Nhlanhla Dlamini said through contributi­ons from the community, he was able to buy a door which had also been damaged by the winds.

“I am worried about what will happen this summer as more rain and winds are expected. The house that I live in may not be able to withstand bad weather conditions,” he added.

He further said he did not expect people to build him the entire house but any form of donations or building material would be appreciate­d.

“I had worked for a private company for 15 years and losing my job meant that I could no longer support myself and my three children aged 18, 16 and 12,” said Dlamini.

He said before he lost his sight, he had already started making arrangemen­ts to design and build a house.
