Eswatini High Tea this Sunday

- BY MMELI MKWANAZI

MBABANE – “We do better together.”

This best describes the motive behind this year’s Eswatini High Tea (EHTC) event which will be held at Sibane Hotel this coming Sunday (September 26, 2021).

Eswatini High Tea is an annual event hosted by the Eswatini High Tea Community, a registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). It is hosted by its founder, Zamokuhle Vilakazi.

Although with a Degree in Industrial Sociology and Labour Studies, she is a reputable sales lady who believes anything is possible and that a lot more can be achieved if people work together.

The event itself is meant to help women in business and girls regroup and gather their strength in a fun and very informative, setup.

The high tea promotes self-awareness on women, boosts their self-esteem and allows them to interact and connect at a deeper level, with individuals they wouldn’t have had the opportunity to speak to in an ordinary setup.

The elegant event which will be held for the third time this year does charitable work in communities through donations, mostly from its active members from within and beyond the country’s borders.

In an interview with the founder of the event Zamokuhle Vilakati, she said this year’s event would be wholly centered on women with albinism.

“We have come to realise that the high tea allows them to learn, explore other avenues and grab opportunities presented to them without fear or hesitation.

Awareness

This year we’re focusing on our sisters with albinism. Therefore, we plead with the public to jump in and help us get them sunscreens, hats, umbrellas etc and not just this month, because it’s Albinism Awareness Month, but throughout the year. We work together with charity organisations and foundations, hence the slogan ‘We Do Better Together,” she added.

The organisation also engages in empowerment communal projects of development that may be social, economic, environmental or legal, and does so while promoting good working relations with individuals and other organisations with similar objectives.
