He has racked in E3 000 in total. It was one of the worst displays for Nhlabatsi as he missed obvious and sure balls.

Though having drawn first blood, Ngidi was never intimidated as he won three consecutive frames to make it 3-1.

Nhlabatsi won the fifth frame to put the score to 3-2.

The determined Ngindi won three consecutive frames to make it 6-2 , much to the shock of Nhlabatsi who quickly requested for a recess.

Progressing

In progressing, the two alternated wins until the score was 8-6 wherein

Nhlabatsi committed a dry break and Ngidi dished a reverse dish by potting all the balls.

In the doubles category, Mbabane Pool Club’s Sifiso Makhanya and Siboniso Myeni brushed aside REPS’s Majaha Dlamini and Thobani Mnyezima to win E2 000.

Ngidi joins the likes of Eddie Mkhonta, Nkosinathi ‘Bhubesi’ Sihlongonyane, Siziba Dlamini and Jairus Mhlanga among others previously won the cup for keeps in the singles category.

“I am still trying to come to terms

as to how I failed to come to the party against Ngidi. Even though I was well prepared, I cannot tell where all went wrong but congratulations are in order for him and I saw a vast improvement in his game”, Nhlabatsi remarked after his loss.
