WHAT SOME PARENTS HAD TO SAY:

-

Dudu Magongo

“The carrying of guns is scary to an adult, how much more to our children. They will not be able to concentrate even in class because of the unusual scene of security personnel. Bantfwana bati kutsi kwaba nemaphoyisa, kusuke kugangiwe.”

Lungele Simelane

“I do not think having them around our children is a good idea. They will make our children fearful until they begin to hate going to school. Forces should focus on catching thieves and those who are killing people in the streets and just leave schools alone. Things should continue as they are.”

Nonto Dludlu

“My concern is if the security forces are deployed as a form of intimidation. That will never be comfortable for anyone, let alone learners. It could paint a very bad picture in their minds. I believe that security is meant to make you feel comfortable and secure.”

Kayise Dludlu

“We all know that armed forces were accused of having a hand in the death of some civilians, so deploying them in schools will leave our children learning in fear and, honestly it is not going to make the current situation any better.”
