‘Sikhali’, Tony call for fans to vaccinate
MBABANE – “It is the right thing to do.”
Those were words of both Mbabane Swallows Captain Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze and Mbabane Highlanders captain Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa when encouraging the nation to vaccinate for the COVID-19 pandemic. Both players said they were missing fans at the stadiums and there is a chance that they will be allowed back if they vaccinated.
Tsabedze said he got vaccinated a while ago while Ndzinisa was among the Mbabane Highlanders players who vaccinated yesterday during the football vaccination launch held at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Technical Centre at Lobamba yesterday. Ndzinisa said he was feeling okay after taking jab while Tsabedze said he never had any side-effects.
Other players who have taken the vaccine include Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko, Denver Sundowns Mandla Palma, Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Nkambule, Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze, Milling Hot Spurs General Secretary Vusi Hall and Highlanders PRO Mandla Madonsela among others.
Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga said vaccinating was the way to go. “I encourage all football people across the country to use the Health Alert App launched by my colleague, the Honourable Minister of Health, Lizzie Nkosi, on Monday, accessible on WhatsApp via 7943 6585.
“It is normal to have questions and concerns about vaccination, but we should be cautious of where we seek these answers from. This app has all the right answers to our questions, answers based on science and research. As football, let us embrace and use it,” he said.
