Women urged to join Smagamaga Competition

MBABANE- MTN Eswatini has advised women to join and participate in the ongoing Smagamaga 3.0 competition.

Digital and Value Added Services Manager Alex Lushaba said the games played during Smagamaga were complex and common.

He mentioned that maybe women were not participating because they were scared of not being knowledgeable on them.

“It is a very knowledgeable game, you will not know all the answers but you will be able to improve your general knowledge skills,’’ said Lushaba.

He mentioned that the trend they had noted was that more men were winning the competition and would find out from five winners only one was a female.

Determined

“We have seen the trend and we basically think when it comes to such competitions men are more determined and driven to win, they participate more than women,’’ said Lushaba.

The VAS Manager was speaking during the first draw of the Smagamaga 3.0 competition for the month of August.

Unlike last time, the winners this time were a total of five instead of the four from the previous Smagamaga competition.

For the month of August MTN Eswatini announced five winners who won E5 000 each from playing the game.

The winners appreciated MTN for the win and shared that they were grateful for the opportunity of playing and winning.

One of the winners, Nsindiso Magagula said he was happy he won the cash prize of E5 000 and that it would help him with his project.

“There is a project I’m currently working on and this money came at the right time. I have been consistent with the game because I wanted to win and I’m both happy and humbled by the win,’’ said Magagula.

Lushaba, during an interview with this publication highlighted that the winners were not winning out of sheer luck but it was the points they had accumulated.

Announced

In addition, he announced that a total of 1 500 winners had been given data, 90 were given food vouchers and five people won E 1 000 through their MoMo accounts.

Lushaba encouraged emaSwati to keep playing the game in order to accumulate more points which would put them at a better chance of winning the grand prize in December.

“The final draw for MTN Smagamaga will be held in December where E100 000 will be won. People can keep playing and further accumulate points that would help them win in December,’’ said Lushaba.

In conclusion, Lushaba mentioned that the company had a budget of over a million set for the Smagamaga competition.

The budget also includes the lucrative E100 000 grand prize.
