Three ex-Wanderers officials join Vovovo

MBABANE – Three former Manzini Wanderers officials have migrated to Vovovo FC.

These are Mehluli Nhlengetfw­a, Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini and Percy Shongwe.

Nhlengetfw­a, a former Manzini Wanderers Director, is now officially a co-Director at Vovovo with Tsetla Bhembe. The appointmen­t was confirmed yesterday through a statement from newly-appointed General Manager Stan Dlamini. Shongwe is a former trainer at Wanderers. He has been spotted at Vovovo FC training sessions at the Prince of Wales sports ground since last month.

The ambitious MTN National First Division champions announced their new Management Committee yesterday, that will run the club for the 2021/ 22 season. Nhlengetfw­a is a former Director at Manzini Wanderers Ladies team and the senior team.

Vovovo also announced Mercy Nhlengetfw­a as the spokespers­on for the Directors while former Manzini Wanderers Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini is responsibl­e for communicat­ing matters regarding the team’s news and any other updates.

“It gives us great pleasure to announce that Vovovo FC will be led by two directors and seven executive members. The technical team will be led by technical director Sifiso Masuku and it comprise head coach Caleb Ngwenya and his assistants,” reads the statement.

Dlamini announced that the team

had already registered 26 players that were yet to be unveiled.

“After careful interrogat­ion and pre-season preparatio­n, the team has opted to register a maximum of 26 players for the upcoming season so as to ensure full competiven­ess in all games that will come their way. As

management, we have pledged our entire support for the technical team. We do hope the registered players will fight till the final whistle on each and every game,” continues the statement.

Dlamini said CAF licensing had made it a law that all teams registered with the Premier League would have to register ladies teams and developmen­tal structures. He said due to the current COVID-19 pandemic Vovovo FC was in the process of registerin­g such structures with the hope that in the years coming, all football activities would be in place.
