MBABANE – The late former Manzini North Member of Parliament and President of the Swaziland Democratic Party (SWADEPA), Jan ‘JJ’ Sithole’s book, has been launched.

The book is titled ‘A Countdown to Jan Sithole’s Death.’

It was officially launched by his wife, Marilyn Sithole on Facebook live on Monday through the Swaziland News page.

According to Sithole’s wife, the book was a true and original diary of events and recordings of ‘JJ’ before his demise in 2020. Sithole died due to a COVID-19-related illness on September 12, 2020.

Struggle

His wife explained that the book was the depth of the late’s political struggle both spiritually and physically.

Marilyn said the political activist focused on the spiritual side which was less talked about.

“The book also talks about how Christianity through high profile pastors as well as cultural practices was being used to oppress emaSwati through witchcraft and evil practices,” said Sithole’s wife.

She said the late politician even recorded some of his assertions when he could not write on certain days.

Enlighten

She explained that the intention of the author was to enlighten the Swati nation to be broad-minded when fighting the Tinkhundla System of Government.

She said the key message contained in the book was that the nation and true pastors had a huge role to spiritually deliver the nation and this was core to its freedom.

She said another message was that the fight for freedom should not be left only to political leaders but other spiritual players that existed.
