‘Weslians’ face their own against Rangers

-

M– They were all licked 1-0 by their previous rivals last weekend, Manzini Wanderers lost to Young Buffaloes while Rangers to Tambankulu Callies.

Rangers have struggled since the 5-0 drubbing by Mbabane Highlanders in match week three as they have lost all their games since.

Four defeats and two wins is what they have. After a dream start, winning their opening two matches in their maiden season raised eyebrows but then the fixtures got intense soon after as it was Highlanders and Royal Leopard in the midst of things.

This is the first meeting between these two sides but it already has a talking point – former Wanderers’ assistant coach Mthunzi Ginindza is the head coach of Rangers and has worked with his rival gaffer Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe before.

The two coaches know each other like the back of their hands but Hlophe oozes more experience and better quality in his squad than the regional players dominating the rookies.

Stun

Can Ginindza stun his former employers and grind the much-needed win here before they drop to the bottom four which is relegation zone as four clubs will go down next year when the league wraps up?

He and his boys certainly have a mountain to climb because Wanderers may not be as star-studded a team compared to the Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows as well as the security forces, they are a team to watch and play some impressive football.

They just need to start burying the chances they create and start moving up the ladder.

The maroon and white hub club will be hoping stars like Fabrice Mopina, Mthunzi Motsa and Reagan Charles are up to it and give the performances that can bag them the maximum points.
