You can be a leader in your community - British High Commissioner
B– British High Commissioner Simon Boyden ignited the spirit of Commonwealth Games when he made them believe they could shine where they were.
He made these comments after witnessing the 17 pupils getting their certificates in leadership.
“You do not have to be in the Olympics or Commonwealth to be a leader. You can be leaders in your respective communities,” Boyden said. He went on to commend the Bulembu community for having raw talent.

Bulembu Ministries General Manager Vernon Puttkammer also thanked EOCGA, the high commissioner and other stakeholders who made the event a success. He said what they were doing was in line with the Commonwealth spirit which was to train and equip future leaders.

Other highlights after the relay was when 17 pupils were presented with certificates of leadership. This was after they had enrolled in a two-week course which was conducted by EOCGA officials. The Queen’s Baton arrived in the country on Thursday from Namibia. It will be here for three days, today being its last day and then its next destination is Lesotho.
