KWAZULU-NATAL – Police on Friday night sei]ed a large number oI e[plo sives Irom a house in Mooi 5iver, .wa=ulu 1atal, which according to reports were meant to be used to blow up national key points.

I2/ reports that the e[plosives were going to be used to blow up the Mooi 5iver 7oll Pla]a on the 13 highway, Iollowing the +igh &ourt ruling that Iormer president -acob =uma should return to prison.

7he Pretoria +igh &ourt on :ednesday ruled that Iormer na tional commission­er oI correction­al services Arthur Fraser’s decision to place =uma on medical parole was unlawIul and set aside the decision.

A report now states that, in re sponse to the Mudgment, there was plan was to create chaos by targeting national key points in .wa=ulu 1a tal.

An inIormant allegedly told police about a location where a large Tuan tity oI e[plosives were being stored.

Police and the e[plosives unit were called to an abandoned house in the %runtville area oI Mooi 5iver where the e[plosives were recovered.

All the e[plosives recovered at the house were taken to the Mooi 5iver police station.

RETURN TO PRISON

7he South AIrican +uman 5ights &ommission SA+5& on Friday called Ior calm amid Iears over po tential unrest emanating Irom =u ma’s ordered return to prison.

7he SA+5& said it was concerned about posts on social media that may result in unrest yet again.

³7he commission also notes that the social media is already abu]] with statements that have the po tential to inflame the situation in the country. Some statements have been made on public news media which can have the same effect,” the SA+5& said in a statement.
