Mega Sound shows ‘mega love’ to girl child

- BY SETSABILE NKAMBULE

MBABANE – Entertainment stable, Mega Sound has shown ‘mega love’ to the girl child through a donation of pads worth E1 200.

This initiative by the Times of Eswatini was inspired by comedian ‘Dr Shakes’ and is meant to ensure that the girl child in the kingdom had at least a three months’ supply of sanitary pads.

Mega Lounge Co-owner Samkelo Zulu stated that the group, consisting of other DJs, did not want to be only known for dishing out great music and organising events but also for their contribution in helping emaSwati who needed assistance.

He said such campaigns gave companies and individuals the opportunity to be of assistance to people they would have not been able to reach.

“We are happy to have been able to join the initiative. Being of assistance to emaSwati always makes us happy. We are hoping that with this donation the girl child will be able to get assisted,” he said.

Zulu expressed that Mega Sound hoped the pads would assist young women and school-going children by ensuring that they were not left out or missed anything at school as result of being on their monthly periods and without sanitary towels.

He said he also hoped the initiative would be inspirational and encouraged others to help where they could. Zulu further mentioned that they also had other (Corporate Social Investment) CSI initiatives that they engaged in every year. He then urged

The initiative of the sanitary pads campaign was inspired by comedian ‘Dr Shakes’, who on his birthday, decided to celebrate it by donating 136 sanitary towels to the girl child.
