- Bonisile Makhubu

MBABANE – Some Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level pupils defied all odds and excelled in their examinations despite the challenges of 2021.

The past academic year had effects on the academic calendar due to political and civil unrest and also the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sifundzani High School Head Teacher Alice Nzima said every student should be proud of themselves for having successfully risen to the task, despite unprecedented turbulences.

Defying

“Our stars made us proud in 2020. Defying the disruptions of the then novel coronavirus, they excelled in their IGCSE exams.

“They have done it again, shining even brighter in their 2021 AS Level exams.

She said the 2021, IGCSE class had also been impressive in equal measure, exhibiting the AS Level class’ resilience and fortitude toward stellar results, much against odds.

“As a school, we couldn’t be prouder. Our teachers were not spared the proverbial ‘flak’.

“They, too, countless times, bore the pressures of intermittent teaching and learning, only driven by the desire for the highest standards synonymous with Sifundzani.

Proven

“They have proven their allegiance to the profession.”

Nzima expressed gratitude and thanked them for continuously applying themselves to the futures of the children.

She expressed appreciation to the parents for supporting their children at home.

“When school closed in the midst of uncertainty in the country, it was our parents who had to take the mantle, support and encourage our children at home during online classes.

These were unprecedented times for everyone, however, despite the challenge; we still succeeded in traversing these new terrains.”CreDit

Giving credit to the pupils, the head teacher said they took responsibility for their futures.

“We are proud of each and every single one of them for flying the Sifundzani flag high.

“We wish them all the best for their future endeavours-both those who have now joined our alumni even as they pursue tertiary education and those who will begin their life in AS Level, shortly.”

She said the school had all the faith in the world that they would continue to achieve great milestones in both the near and far future.
