Unregister­ed healers safe from tax collectors

LOBAMBA – Healers who are not registered in law will be exempted from paying value added taxes (VAT) , following an amendment to the VAT (Amendment Bill).

The Bill was discussed in the House of Assembly before going to Senate.

When it was read by the Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg yesterday upon its return from Senate, there was a debate in the clause that made some people exempt from paying taxes.

Senate had made changes to only two clauses, one of which was the list of those who were exempt from taxes.
