NHLANGANO – A 28-yearold woman was killed by her boyfriend on Monday night on allegations of infidelity.

The incident happened at eNtabeni around Dzakasini area in the Shiselweni Region. Information sourced was that the deceased was from eLufohlweni and resided with her lover (the suspect).

It was said that the couple left their place of abode to enjoy alcoholic beverages on Sunday night until late. The suspect, who is the same age as the deceased, is said to have told his girlfriend that he was heading back home and the deceased stayed behind.

It was said that the deceased allegedly did not return home until the next day and upon arrival, she was questioned about where she had spent the night. It was said that she was assaulted until she allegedly confessed to having spent a night at another man’s house. The man is said to be from the same area.

Suspect

It was said that the suspect understood and they were at peace for the better part of the day until they went drinking again and went back to their house at night. An argument is said to have ensued and the suspect allegedly assaulted the now deceased woman all over again. It was said that he allegedly used a sharp object to stab her in the head three times, and further strangled her as she had marks on the neck along with bruises all over her body.

The woman later succumbed to her injuries at the flat she shared with the suspect. Police were later called and the suspect was arrested. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the death of a 28-year-old woman, who was stabbed.

She further confirmed the arrest of the suspect by the Hlatikhulu police. The suspect was expected to appear before court yesterday and is expected to record a confession today.
