AE shifts focus to special assembly

MBABANE – From the track and field to administrative duties.

Athletics Eswatini (AE) will host a club’s administrative workshop and special assembly to address the constitution amendments, on Saturday at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Sigwaca House. AE Communications Officer (CO) Victor ‘Mavikane’ Dlamini announced yesterday. AE hosted two events, which were track and field competitions that were part of a build-up ahead of the AE National Championships to be held at Mavuso Sports Centre on May 21 this year.

Delegates

Dlamini said first it would be the special assembly for the constitution amendment to start at 8:30am. “As per the resolution of the AGM (Annual General Meeting) held on March 12, 2022, the membership resolved that the board should organise a special assembly, to address the constitutional amendments. Clubs are urged to send a maximum of two delegates,” he said.

Dlamini said the clubs administration workshop, would start at 10am after the special assembly. He said some of the things to be addressed during the workshop include athlete registration, national team selection, AE structures, competition management and anti-doping, among other things.

Dlamini said they were happy that athletes came in numbers to qualify for the national championships and preparations for the big day on May 21 were already under way.
