Nsangwini youth march to bucopho, demand better roads
PIGG’S PEAK - Who doesn’t want better roads and a safe environment to live in? This is exactly what the youth of Nsangwini demanded and they did this by petitioning their local authority to ensure that these and many other requirements were catered for.
Last Saturday, the youth of the area under Nsangwini delivered a petition to Bucopho Sifiso Mokoena stating several demands that they want him to follow through. Nsangwini is one of the chiefdoms under Pigg’s Peak Inkhundla. According to Bandile ‘Sneakvester’ Mabuza, who was among the leaders of the youth, he said the aim of the petition was for the bucopho to take it to the relevant authority.

He said the youth would ensure that the bucopho had taken the demands to the relevant authorities.
Mabuza said initially, the youth went to the bucopho’s home but found that he was not available. He said they then heard that he was at a nearby homestead and then went there. “We then eventually delivered it to him there,” said Mabuza.
He said the youth was not happy about many issues such as the state of the road that passes through Nsangwini.
He said the road was in a poor state and that the residents want ed it tarred as the community often failed to travel during the rainy season. In the petition, the youth also stated that they needed a clinic and better salaries for those who were employed.
Further, they also demanded that they wanted the recognition of skills for those who preferred using their talents as a source of income.
Further, they want the police to intervene in the high rate of crime in the area.
