My perspective of politics

-

ALLOW me to deliberate on how the lack of political knowledge has led to the manipulation of the nation by those in power.

By those in power, I mean everyone that has found themselves in a position of political authority. I believe that political education was omitted on purpose to ensure that emaSwati were not politicised.

Deliberately, we were denied political education so that we could be lied to by the ruling class whenever it deemed appropriate. Our lack of understanding of politics has become a tool of administration by the powers that be.

This situation has also been exploited by those intending to undo tinkhundla for their own interests.

Let us be mindful of the fact that a society devoid of critical minds easily becomes a playground for all kinds of crooks including both economic and judicial ones.

The major setback we face, as a people without any political education, is our vulnerability to be used as a bridge by ‘clever men’ as they negotiate unchartered waters during tough times of their lives.

Last week, I brought to your attention five principles that ought to be upheld by governments, where people are not treated as mere objects or tools of convenience as and when government deems fit. The protection of a man’s dignity gives honour and respect to a man no matter his status in society.

The following actions are tantamount to stripping a man off his dignity and should not be happening in our societies, being: Very poor health, education and judicial systems, high unemployment figures coupled with poor wages, poor food security and ‘doctored’ political education. Let me turn my attention to the heart of politics.

A Greek philosopher by the name

I FATTENTION

you could ask if I am enjoying my life right now, I would be brutally honest with you. No!, I don’t even know how it is like to have a jolly life , it is like every time I try to calm down and relax, there is just that constant reminder that the universe has not released happiness yet, that we should sob and lose every inch of hope we try to build.

From so many losses, to seeing the one thing I have left being delayed, it is a double dose of pain.

Have you ever sat down and tried to figure you out, try to understand what you have done the earth wrong to deserve such pain, and when you find answers, you just realise that you have been nothing but a good woman who tried to make this bitter world a sweet and better place and only to find that the worlds’ bitterness is hard to dilute.

BITTERNESS

I will not lie trust me, I have seen the bitterness of this world. I have been a kindergarten child who thought could change the cruel and insane being of this world, but guess what. Poor me was hit by surprise, the world told me of Socrates, hit the nail on the head when he highlighted the dangers of democracy in the hands of majority without political education is equal to giving people a long rope to hang themselves.

Why give a man a gasoline can, filled with gasoline, to take to point B by foot in a cold evening without warning straight to my face that I must not be happy all the time, that it is a criminal offence to laugh and smile everyday and enjoy all the love there is in the world.

This is not me being bitter, but I picked in the bitter world a few lessons to carry me through my journey, because no matter how bitter this world may be, I still want to live, yes, I still have a life to build. I do not know how far long I have until I reach where I am going, but I am positive that I will walk and pick whatever lesson I need, him of the dangers when there are burning logs after every one mile of his journey? We all know that God limited wisdom to few people, but no limit was given to man’s stupidity.

The reasoning of a poor man is very unpredictable as a number of factors come into play when he has to make a decision on any matter that is seriously

I will continue grinding until I get to where I am going.

When you are so dependent on a person for your sanity, this world just has the very way to make you have your very own backbone.

It just finds the perfect way to wake you up and make you see that you are in this life thing all alone, the only helper you have is your God.

This girl right here has seen that! Yes, it might seem as though my years on earth haven’t been that long, but life has made me take walks I never challenging his mind. Look at the case of our country when it comes to a general election. There are no set qualities or minimum standards (in terms of minimum level of education) in the Constitution. The drafters and those to whom this Constitution mattered were not interested in laying a strong foundation for future generations but thought I would take, it has just made me board buses I never imagined boarding .

I have cried, I have beaten myself up so many times. With so many regrets and so much anger and pain, I have lived, I know how it is like to hold onto the wrong ones and let go of the right ones.

And I have seen how it is like to live with the ones that plan on breaking your life, that want to delay and destroy your greatness, they smile and laugh with you and you do not see in locking the majority into the past or Swaziland of old. Even those that are not politically informed can be politicians. No wonder these ‘MPs’ in that House are doing a ‘splendid’ job before their own eyes.

Now we are in this period and the ignorant are being manipulated by some ‘clever’ Swazis who claim to have a bigger stake of eSwatini than other Swazis. The powers that be never saw this period coming, although the signals had been there for a long time. Let us all look at revolutions that have taken place in the world from France, Russian federation, Cuba etc. All of them had one thing in common; mass dissatisfaction, economic hardship, low wages, poor health services, hunger, etc.

A revolution is about removing the guy at the top, and in our case it is His Majesty the King and replacing Him with a candidate that is known to a few. In the past it was about getting a demagogue who would speak a language well understood by the majority.

IMPROVED

He would tell them a lot of lies including improved working conditions, better wages and no hunger and better infrastructure.

All of these lies do not appear as lies to the majority that is not politically informed.

By the time the majority realises that it was all a lie it is often too late to do anything about it.

All revolutions are followed by dictators who often make other people disappear through assassination.

In our midst we have the King who has been painted as public enemy number one through various narratives propagated through social media.

These uninformed Swazis believe that their problems will disappear with him if they take him away from the throne. This is not the truth.

I am not for a revolution but an orderly transition through a dialogue where many people will be eager to participate in the battle of the minds. Violence shall never be an option for me. I believe in God and in His wisdom. Mine is too limited.

their evil deeds.

But we have not been called to be destroyed, and we have not come on earth to be shuttered. We came for particular purposes, and until we serve them, our creator will not allow us to leave.

Maybe they may sabotage us here and there, and they may want to destroy everything we build, but until he has fulfilled his will with our lives, we are yet to live, for his glory we will survive.

So every day, I do not have to walk in fear I walk in faith, because I know even the battles I have not seen and fought, I have already won, I am already a conqueror.

SHUTTERED

Yes, I know that sometimes the dreams I have may seem shuttered and be veins without hope, but , the one who gave me these dreams told me to hold onto them because they are what I came here for, they are what I need and I will live for that fact.

So you do not have to fear a thing, all the battles that you have won tell you the whole story.

Your journey is not on stand still, more awaits you and as it waits, you must press on, harder every day, maybe the grind will be tough to pull, but nobody else except you has the capability to pull through.

So even if all has been said and done by others who do not know you, keep grinding because you are the lever that defines you better!
