One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day”

STEPHANE SIMPSON –

This, I can proudly say, been my motto this week.

Every morning we wake up with a fresh start and a new chance to reach our goals, big or small. We can set the tone for the day with one simple decision.

This will serve you throughout the day. In doing so, you are priming your brain and body to seek more positive moments, and encourage your reward system to acknowledge other positive moments throughout the day.

Think of it as a branching tree, where every decision you make takes you either up toward happiness or down toward anxiety.

Kicking off your day on the right foot by having positive thoughts generates momentum that compounds into a positive day. So trust that, ‘One small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day’.

I strive to make this a priority in my daily routine, yes situations and people may try and put you down throughout the course of the day, but it’s up to you to make the decision on what you choose to focus on.

This being my second week at The Times of Eswatini, I have learnt a lot about this subject and the importance of it thereof and how to apply it.

I know it’s easier said than done readers, but all you need is to take that decision then the sky is only the beginning, the possibilities are endless.

It’s important to know that your potential is limitless and you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Challenges don’t arise to make you give up but to rise like a phoenix, against all odds.

This week’s read is loaded with entertainment, fashion and arts.

In our main article, we have the one and only Ayacity (dope DJ making headlines), then we have NelzoArt – a fashion designer from Eswatini who shares her story with us.

This edition is packed with interesting diverse entertaining topics that we trust you will enjoy. We also have a local feature with King Terry’s performance at the Open Mic session this passed Thursday.

Let’s not forget that our thoughts are very powerful. What we create in our head can have a huge impact in our attitude, our perception, and our reality.

So, even if you haven’t had the best morning, think of one positive thought and hold on to it. You’d be surprised how it can greatly change your whole day. 6HQG LQ \RXU FRPPHQWV RU VXJ JHVWLRQV WR JFZDOD#WLPHV FR V]

AMotsa, popularly known as Ayacity, was born and raised in the Kingdom of Eswatini, he is also a fast-growing music producer who currently has an EP available dupped ‘Rose’, named after his late mother.

He is a professional resident deejay at Solani’s Shisanyama, known by many in Africa for hosting the most celebrated artists both locally and in neighbouring countries like, South Africa, Mozambique and Nigeria.

DJ Ayacity has been the opening act for Black Coffee, Lady Zamar and has shared the stage with artists he grew up looking up to like DJ Shimza, Sjava, Simmy, Sun EL Musician, Kabza de Small, AKA and Ricky Rick to name a few.

YANDA How old is Ayacity?

Lol, yoh I honestly don’t like revealing my age but yeah I’m 27.

Is it safe to say you have been doing music for 12 years?

I’ve been in the music industry since my high school days, but I only started perfecting my craft after completing high school.

What sparked your interest to pursue music?

My whole family loves music, so I guess that’s how I inherited it, it’s basically the passion I’ve always had for music, everyone can play music, but it’s not everyone who can make music, hence I ventured into production to try and go all professional or rather international, I believe the only way to differentiate your craft from everyone’s is through creating your own sound.

Do you do music production as well?

Yeah, I recently dropped my first EP last year December named after my late mum Rose. This was because she meant so much to me and was one person who kind of influenced the love I have for music. When growing up I’d wake up to her voice every morning, she was a great singer. The EP is still doing very well internationally; people can still check it out on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music.

What genre do you produce and have you started producing for anyone as yet?

I am currently doing Amapiano, because it’s a sound that I’m into.

Who have you worked/collaborated with locally and internationally and who would you like to collaborate with in the near future?

I’ve only been working with locals, the likes of Mzwa, Musical Prince and Able Kein just to mention a few.

What are you working on at the moment?

I am currently working on what’s gonna be the best EP ever, lol, with my brother Crocnova, which will be dropping soon.

What has been the highlight of your career?

Dropping my first EP, which I believe changed my whole life , got me a series of bookings and still doing me wonders because I’m still getting gigs as a result of that special EP and also the consistency everytime I’m on stage, I always try to make sure I give my people a 100 per cent.

What do you look forward to every morning?

Breaking through internationally, collaborating with more international artists, especially the guys I look up to, the likes of Kabelo Motha.
