ESWATINI AIRLINE TICKETS SALES SOON AFTER CERTIfICATION
SITEKI – The selling of tickets for the four routes the two aircrafts bought by government through the Royal Eswatini National Airways Corporation (RENAC), will start as soon as the certification process has been qualified by the regulators in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The second plane that was being branded in South Africa landed at the King Mswati III International Airport.
The first plane, an EDCEAA, 50-seater, jetted into the country in March and both planes were bought from Hop, a subsidiary of Air France.
In South Africa, the planes would fly to Durban, Cape Town and O.R Tambo and Harare International Airport in Zimbabwe.
It has cost RENAC B E4.2 million for facilitating flight costs for bringing both aircraft to South Africa from France.
Branding
The company further paid costs for branding the aircraft with the country’s flag colours.
According to RENAC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Qiniso Dhlamini, the aircraft were bought in their current state and delivered to RENAC in France at the premises of the seller and painted in white.
“Both Zimbabwe and South Africa have to certify both aircraft as a qualification procedure as they would be landing and using their routes. Once the certification has been done, tickets and other logistics will follow,” he said.
Dhlamini asked not to comment on the prices and the envisaged customers in these routes in accordance with RENAC market study, but mentioned that the organisation was still to advertise tickets once the certification had been finalised.
