MBABANE - A 46-year-old woman of Mahebedla area was sentenced to two years imprisonment with an option to pay a fine of E2 000 for assaulting her love rival.

Thulsile Malindzisa, who is in a love triangle with Maria Simelane, appeared at the Mbabane Magistrates Court yesterday after being charged for assaulting her counterpart with a copper rake holder and fists all over the body. After the charge presentation before Magistrate Chazile Thwala, the accused pleaded guilty to the charge. The accused told the court that she committed the offence after retaliating. She told the court that the complainant came into her home to harvest her farm products. She said her husband told her to do the harvesting as he was her second fiancée. “She came to my home to harvest some of the farm products

I planted. I enquired from her, as to who gave her the permission to do such, and she boldly told me that her boyfriend (who is my husband) gave her the permission. I told her that even though they were lovers, they must not provoke me. I then lost control of myself,” said Malindzisa.

Tension

Malindzisa further told the court that her husband was the master mind of the tension between her and Simelane. She revealed before the court that her husband tried to sell her house but she refused. The mother of five said the complainant was her husband’s puppet who was serving the husband’s evil agenda. She asked the court to help her speak to her husband and stop what he was doing. She said her husband recently took away her hacksaw without her consent. Magistrate Thwala advised the accused to apply for a peace binding order.
