MBABANE – The MTN Bushfire Festival continues to avail business opportunities for local entrepreneurs as they sourced out a total of 26 taxis and four shuttles in this year’s festival.

Worth mentioning, the capacity for the event was at 50 per cent this year due to strict COVID-19 majors.

The MTN Bushfire Communications Officer Simon Dawson said they are excited to report that a total of 26 taxis and four huttles successfully transported festivalgoers to and from the festival this past weekend.

Dawson said the aim was to assist in ensuring that festival guests stay safe on the roads during the festival weekend, from 27-29 May 2022.

“MTN Bushfire partnered with TOTAL Energies and the Sincephetelo MVA Fund to provide the Park n’ Ride service that allows fans to take a shuttle and travel between Manzini, Gables, Manzini and the festival,” he said.

He added that not only did this help to decrease the levels of drinking and driving, it also helped to limit traffic congestion on the roads leading to MTN Bushfire, and lessened the impact of carbon emissions.

Dawson also mentioned that shuttles were expected to take MTN Bushfire fans to and from the festival safely according to a strict schedule with designated pick-up and drop-off times along designated routes, although there were a few delays due to high traffic volumes in the late evenings.

He said the taxi fares were arranged for festivalgoers depending on their destinations, while the shuttles cost only E20.00 per trip on their assigned routes.

“All official Park n’ Ride transport was branded with two stickers on each side. These taxis and shuttles were inspected as roadworthy by the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) Traffic inspectors, and their drivers are well-known for great customer service,” the communications officer added.

Dawson also mentioned that they look forward to another exciting customer centric experience in 2023 and more information would be made available in the MTN Bushfire website and social media pages.

This initiative is one of the many business and money-making opportunities that MTN BUSHFIRE brings to locals and stands as further testament of its importance to the Eswatini society.
