PIGG’S PEAK – For refusing to prepare food for her husband who arrived home very late, *Jackie endured physical torture.

Trouble between *Jomo and Jackie worsened when he allegedly arrived home late, and his wife was already sleeping. He then asked her to prepare him some food but she is said to have refused.

According to a relative whose name will not be mentioned, Jomo is said to have tortured his wife before fleeing.

He allegedly went outside and prepared a fire so that he could cook. He is alleged to have finished cooking his food and went back into the house.

When he entered the house, he is said to have turned on music and raised the volume so loud that some of the neighbours could hear the music. After turning on the music, he is alleged to have turned on an iron as if to iron his clothes. As the iron was warming up, the wife is said to have been puzzled to see her husband doing this and wondered why he was preparing to iron his clothes late in the night. Little did she know her husband was preparing to burn her with the iron.

Stabbed

When the iron was hot, Jomo is said to have started to iron her buttocks for refusing to cook for him. He is said to have further stabbed her. Jackie screamed, but due to the loud music that her husband was playing, no one could hear her. However, later on, some of the neighbours heard the noise and assisted her. But by that time, Jomo had already fled.

Jackie was taken to the Mkhuzweni Health Centre where she was treated for her injuries. Another relative revealed that Jackie was later released to the care of her father as she feared for her life that her husband would end up killing her.
