JUST DESSERTS
At a party, a young wife admonished her husband, “That’s the fourth time you’ve gone back for ice cream and cake. Doesn’t it embarrass you?”
“Why should it?” answered her spouse. “I keep telling them it’s for you.”
BOYFRIEND TROUBLE
A teenager brings her new boyfriend home to meet her parents. They’re appalled by his haircut, tattoos and piercings.
Later, the girl’s mum says, “Dear, he doesn’t seem to be a very nice boy.”
“Oh, please, mum!” says the daughter. “If he wasn’t nice, would he be doing 500 hours of community service?
DRINK UP!
Restaurant patron: “Waiter, I’d like a bottle of wine.”
Waiter: “What year, sir?”
Patron: “Well, I’d like it right now.”
LATE NOTICE
Phoning a patient, the doctor says, “I have some bad news and some worse news. The bad news is that you have only 24 hours left to live.”
“That is bad news,” the patient replies. “What could be worse?”
The doctor answers, “I’ve been trying to reach you since yesterday.”
condolences on behalf of the team to Blignaut family and friends, hoping that God would comfort them during this dark hour.
Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) Secretary General (SG) Nkhosingiphile Shongwe said this was a big loss to local football especial at the development level.
“We have lost, as football, we worked with Blignaut for a long time and his son played for Mphalati. He
also donated a photocopying machine through Merica,” Shongwe said.
He further sent his condolences on behalf of the HRFA to his family and the entire football fraternity, especial the juniors.
Meanwhile, death has also robbed Mbabane Swallows of their Nhlangano Branch Vice-Chairperson Lucky ‘Mashamplane’ Dlamini, who served Umkhonto KaShaka for over 20 years.
day dear reader and happy international children’s month to all Eswatini children. What a start for the Pick n Pay Kick Off Football Development Programme. Once again bravo Pick n Pay for partnering with football. Also, thanks to the parents and relatives of the participants of this programme who witnessed the kick-off of this football development programme and Eswatini Football Association (EFA) encourages you to continue watching these children as your presence enhances their performance, as well. Today the focus is on the girl child who also need our support. All the best girls, and please maximise this opportunity. One day we hope to see you playing for the local women football teams in the country and ultimately the national teams. Womens football has a lot of opportunities, even at a global level as we have witnessed other girls thrive internationally, even receiving scholarships and lucrative contracts, through the beautiful game (football). Who knows, it maybe you next and such football successes begin by participating in such football development programmes.
TOTALENERGIES AFCON QUALIFIERS
As I write this column, the senior men national team is preparing for the kick-off of a significant match against Togo in the TOTALEnergies AFCON Qualifiers. Again, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, the national team will play against Burkina Faso in the same competition, at the FNB Stadium and kick-off is at 3pm. In as much as the 12th player (fans) would have played a crucial role in as far as this match is concerned, the fans will be missed as this match will be implemented without them as per the agreement with the stadium owners. All the best to Sihlangu.
COACHING LICENSING SYSTEM
As per club licensing requirement, in order for coaches to be eligible to perform their duties in their respective clubs, they have to be licensed. This is one way in which EFA implements the football coaching standards in the country for the proper development of the game. As an improvement in the coaching license system, EFA has introduced a new licensing system for coaches with effect from the 2022/23 football season. All CAF Diploma holders are required to attend a Refresher Course scheduled for July 4 to 10 2022. Successful coaches will be awarded coaching licenses valid for three years and they will be renewable in that fashion. This implies that the seasonal coaching license will come to an end at the end of the 2021/22 football season.
ADVANCE COACHING COURSE EXAMINATION
The participants of the Advance Coaching Course will do their practical session today at the Technical Centre in Lobamba. There will be 40 participants for this event that will commence at 8am. These participants will be under the watchful eyes of Friday Myeni and James Kunene who are the EFA’s Coaching Instructors. Successful participants will undergo a one-year attachment in coaching then qualify for the CAF D and C coaching courses. During this practical session, the participants will implement a 20 to 30 minutes coaching, session that will cover the three phases of coaching which are the introductory, advance and competition sessions.
Till next week, football for all and safe life for all.
