‘Manyovu’ barred, risks suspension

-

Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe said all the procedures were done when requesting the player and he was released but he did not pitch up for the camp. He was speaking on Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS 1) Sport Show yesterday morning. The player was missing on the day the squad left the country for Togo together with another international in Cape Town All Stars forward Justice ‘Figa’ Figuaredo. Manyovu’s name was included in the final list of 20 players, however, he was dropped. It is worth mentioning that Igugu leKapa Manager, Zukiswa Simelukane disclosed that EFA never at any stage sent a correspondence requesting Figa for national team assignments.

Absence

When asked about the absence of the duo from Sihlangu, Coach Kunene said this was an administrative issue handled by the relevant bodies.

His words were echoed by Radebe, who said the issue especially that of Manyovu was administrative and would be discussed after the game against Burkina Faso. Sources close to the national team revealed that the Sagrada Esperanca winger showed up for Sihlangu on the departure day only to be locked out of the EFA Technical Centre at Lobamba.

“He was not allowed to even set foot past the gate as he parked and tried to open it but was turned back and old his matter would be addressed later.

Comment

Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi Radebe did not want to comment on what happened about Manyovu, emphasising that this was an administrative issue.

“As the coach said on Tuesday the Manyovu’s issue was administrative. We will wait for his full report when the national team returns,” Radebe said. Meanwhile, Manyovu said he could not comment on the matter as those that were at liberty to do so were away in Togo.

“Let’s wait for the national team to return and I can then be able to comment after the technical bench’s report. For now that’s all I can say,” he said.
