Phumelele teachers party for good Form V results
MBABANE – ,t’s party time 7eachers at Phu melele High School in 0atsapha are over the moon. 2n )riday the educators threw party to celebrate their achievements. 2f course they have achieved their annual goal to ensure that a reason able number of )orm 9 pupils get academic results that pave their way to the 8niversity of Eswatini 8NE SWA .
8NESWA is their benchmarN. At least the pupils should get a mini mum of si[ credits.
At least 20 e[ pupils of the school who sat for the 2021 )orm 9 e[ami nation got the minimum of si[ credits including English /anguage. 7hey are eligible for entry into 8NESWA depending though on availability of space. 2thers got seven credits.
8pon receipt of the results from the E[aminations &ouncil of Eswatini E&ESWA Sabelo 0avuso the Di rector and %heNi Dlamini the Head teacher agreed to host a party for the educators.
,t was held after school to avoid distraction from pupils. While enjoy ing the meat they had the privilege to quench their thirst with wine.
7hey also had an opportunity to worN on logistics to repeat the feat.
Dlamini said he was pleased to note that some teachers have been with the school for the past 15 years.
He said the good thing about the school was that it employed qualified teachers in possession of Degrees.
7he school’s head teacher pointed out that the educators of Phumelele a private learning institution were highly professional trained and mo tivated hence some of them have served the school for a very long time.
³We are always happy to good aca demic results ” he said.
He said 97 per cent of the 74 pupils qualify for entry into the tertiary in stitutions in the country.
2n the other hand 0avuso the Di rector said ³, am happy to see the children we have produced enrolling for courses at the universities. We are delighted.”
He said he understood the financial condition in which parents and guardi ans found themselves in as &29,D 19 diverted family resources to unfore seen circumstances but urging them to clear their outstanding debts.

7he director said it was a pity to see pupils who performed e[ceptionally well failing to collect their results be cause of unpaid school fees.
He disclosed that his school has re corded a deficit of E9 million from 2019 2022.
He pointed out though that he was happy that the country has credi ble and quality tertiary institutions which include but not limited to the Southern Africa Na]arene 8niversity SAN8 Eswatini 0edical &hristian 8niversity /imNoNwing 8niversity of &reative 7echnology Eswatini &ollege of 7echnology William Pitcher &ollege and Ngwane 7each ers &ollege.
He said he noted with appreciation the great strides A0AD, 8niversity &ollege has taNen in the education sector.
0avuso urged his pupils and for mer pupils to apply for admission to colleges and universities that were accredited by the Eswatini Higher Education &ouncil ESHE& .
ESHE& was established in 2015 in terms of the Higher Education Act 2013. ,t has the overall responsibil ity of regulating higher education in Eswatini ensuring that the post sec ondary sub system creates high level Nnowledge for worNers necessary for stimulating the economy.
,t is responsible for the develop ment and implementation of a system of quality assurance for higher edu cation which includes registration accreditation institutional audits quality promotion and standards de velopment.
7he organ advises the minister of Education and 7raining on higher education matters and policy as well as contributing to the development of higher education through intellectual engagement with Ney staNeholders including addressing short and long term challenges facing higher educa tion.
7his is done with a view to attaining a situation in the country where there is an adequate and sustainable gener ation of internationally competitive sNilled worNforce capable of spear heading the country’s production and Nnowledge based growth.
7he council ensures that all institu tions of higher learning in Eswatini offer programmes and qualifications that meet the required standards and are aligned with national and interna tional development goals.
