MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers came back twice from behind to force a 2-all draw against Green Mamba.

The result earned the maroon and white outfit the sixth spot and the E75 000 sixth place finish prize money.

Wanderers, who had to fight relegation in the second round of the season, had their goals scored by Njabulo ‘Koko’ Gama and Majahesibili ‘Giggs’ Dlamini in the second half. Green Mamba’s forward, Mxolisi Mkhontfo who scored a brace could not inspire his team to a better position as they ended ninth with 37 points.

Mkhontfo scored two brilliant goals from each half of the match.

The two sides played a 1-all draw in the first round fixture and they could not be separated even this time around. It was Green Mamba who dominated the match creating a number of scoring opportunities in both halves.

It was Mkhontfo’s long drive outside 35 yards from a free kick that helped Green Mamba to take the lead. He beat Wanderers goalkeeper Phila Mamba who could have done better between the sticks.

The game went for a breather with Green Mamba enjoying the lead. It was the hard working Fabrice Mopina who connected a cross to unmarked ‘Koko’ inside the box and finished with ease, sending the less than 100 supporters to celebrations.

2018/ 19 seasons were back 15 minutes from time to take lead through Mkhontfo who unleashed a shot, reaching for the far corner with Wanderers substituted goalkeeper Bongiswa Dlamini beaten.

Wanderers never gave up, but they continued to seek an equaliser as they took in charge of the match in the last 10 minutes. It came as no surprise when ‘Giggs’ struck with seven minutes remaining from time, as he got the better of Xolani Mngomezulu and the game finishing with the teams level-pegging.
